El logo de “Rerum Demoni – Capítol 1r” llest. Ara ja falta una mica menys

Lately I’ve been working with the Rerum Demoni project, which was a little stopped. The truth is that I’m still handling the whole issue of the puzzles of the game, where lies much of the fun of a classic adventure game.

For now all work is pen and paper, and turning upsidedown ideas. Luckily I have the advantage of having the general history quite clear, thanks to the short film who’s based on the game (spoiler alert only for spanish and catalan connaisseurs: Watch de short).

I decided not to do only a “remake” of the short. In fact I sliced the game in these two episodes that would be (tentative titles):

1. Rerum Demoni: The quest for the book
2. Rerum Demoni: Meeting with the Monster

The first episode will focus on finding the Rerum Demoni and decipher their mysteries, which leads to the second part, research and capture of  the misterious monster.

Animinimal is working on a Visual Novel, using the RenPy engine.

This game is based on the eight hand writed book: “Trash Tale: Savage Life”, by Trashmovies.

This is the abstract of the novel and picture score send to Mr. Paul Verhoeven, with the remarkable characters and a little of the plot:

• LOCUSS (Dolph Lundgren, suggested actor): A US NAVY pilot, acused for a crime, he scapes in his Jet and crashes in New America, a devastated country in the South American Jungle.
• LARGO MONTÉS (Mickey Rourke): A dirty Officer of SWORD, a small army who fights the KRAONS, an alien breed who enslaves the New America Population. He’s very rude and wild.
• ROBERTO SAYAGO (Lou Diamond Philips): Commander of SWORD, he’s the nice guy, some kind of cool japaneese alcoholic samurai with a strange eyes illness who’s in love with Mistress Sword.
• SARA aka Mistress SWORD (Elisabet Berkley, suggested actress): She’s the Head of SWORD Army, she’s a widow and she doesn’t know fear. She will learn to appreciate Locuss as a loyal ally against the KRAONS.
• SANTAFÉ (Kirk Hammet, suggested face): He finds Locuss and introduce him Mistress Sword. He’s very charmy.
• FIZZ (Chriss Elliot): Next to the KRAON homebase there is a big volcano, “Ketah’”, with alien residues instead of lava. This lava can produce mutations on humans, Fizz is one of the officers who survived the big Volcano battle, and his face is stinky and full of grains of pus.
• JUANITO (Dan Aykroid): The mutant lava made him bigger, stronger, and more stupid. He has a big dig and he’s always showing off when mutant prostitutes from “El Rancho” are around.
• BIG MUHAL (Rob Lowe): The boss of the KRAONS. He’s a kind of homosexual Jabba the hutt roman emperor who’s in love with Locuss, he will actually capture and violate him. After humiliation Locuss will become KILLKRAON and his mission in life will be destroy any KRAON lifesign.
• The KRAONS: Are slim and purple aliens, they live in a kind of hive next to the Volcano.
• HERIBERTO MANDALUPE (Jimmy Smits): The Chief of the mutant gang, they’re renegade ex-SWORD members who can’t stand how they look like now. Heriberto is actually the dead husband of mistress Sword.

On animinimal we are working on the game Rerum Demoni. The adventure game uses Lassie AS as creation engine.

The project is still in early planification & development steps.
